Luke 23:43
The light of the world was becoming darkened and I believe Heaven was quieted while earth was handed a Test*
Three crosses stood upon the stage of life, where three men hung. “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.” was heard from a voice on the left, addressing the man in the center.
“Doest not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?” Another voice rebuked from the right, of the center cross. “And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss, he added.
Quietness
Was the center voice staying still for a reason? Sometime’s voice is to be still and sometimes voice is to be heard.
I listened to the voices, and I listened to the silence, I wanted to hear, I wanted to learn.
Silence that day knew the heart of man, and Silence let man talk. “If thou be the Christ,” one voice of man said. “Does not thou fear God,” the other voice of man interrupted.
Opinion, disagreement and argument were playing their greatest performance in what would live through the ages of time as a catalyst, on a hill called Calvary?
“IF THOU BE CHRIST,” or “DOST THOU NOT FEAR GOD,”
A war was apparent. Two opponents, one on each side of Righteousness and Peace. Who would win? Allegory was there too. A story with hidden meaning. I wanted to know.
If, on this day, has many questions, If, often argue’s and debates. If, many times ignores truth, shoves things under a rug and moves on. If is jovial when he should be serious and serious when he should be jovial.
Fearful of God, is aware of sin within self and can see it often in other’s. Sin brings condemnation and condemnation is separation from God forever (Hell). Fearful, knows all have sinned, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves (liar). Fearful, knows of only one that never sinned, and believed that one, hung with them in the middle of controversy.
One voice was guilty, condemned and would soon be seperated from God through all eternity. The other voice was the same. They both were sinners. They both had deeds that needed repented of and they both needed to be forgiven. They both needed a Savior.
“Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy Kingdon.” was the last words from the voice on the right.
Unrepented deeds brought condemnation. Reward was due, death, separation, Hell, but the man in the middle, this man hath done nothing amiss. One sinner believed he to be the Christ. In his believing the silence was broken.
“Verily I say unto thee, To day thou be with me in paradise.”
The Test
is still being taken today by all that live. Hearts are filled with If’s and The Fear of God which brings Belief. There is only two grades, A & F, Heaven & Hell…. That day on Calvary one man received an A the other an F. One believed totally, trusting in a Savior he repented of his sin, he was sorrowful for many deeds and wanted forgiven. The other questioned just a tiny bit, disagreed a tiny bit, and missed Heaven a tiny bit because of unbelief.
“may we be the voice on the right and a friend to the voice in the middle”
